The remains of Agagu shall be committed to mother earth today despite the lives that were lost in the crash.
The Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Ondo State, Chief Ebenezer Alabi said, “We just consulted with the family and have decided to go ahead with the burial.”
“More so, the son of the former governor survived and the son-in-law survived. There was no scratch on the casket.”
“So while the family sympathized with those that lost their lives and their loved ones, they have decided to go ahead with the burial as initially planned.”
Agagu’s body which was still intact at the time of the crash is in transit to his home town, Iju-Odo, which will be his final place of rest.
It was gathered that the family of the late Agagu in Iju-Odo has ordered that his remains be conveyed to his home-town yesterday by road, to continue with the burial arrangements.
Mrs. Olufunke Agagu, the wife of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu and her daughters, Solape and Omowunmi, have relocated to Iju-Odo in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state for today’s burial.
It was reported that the wife of the late former Governor, Mrs. Olufunke Agagu had insisted that the burial arrangement of her late husband would take place after she confirmed and spoke to her son and her son-in-law who were involved in the crash.
The Christian wake-keep held as scheduled yesterday while the body shall be interred today.
